SWAMI VIVEKANANDA

Born in aristocratic Bengali kayastha family of Calcutta, Swami Vivekananda showed an inclination towards spirituality and God realization. His guru, Ramakrishna paramahamsa taught him advaita Vedanta (non-dualism or aham bramhasmi); that all religions are true and that service to man was the most effective worship of God. After the death of his guru, Vivekananda became a wandering monk, extensively touring the Indian subcontinent and acquiring first-hand knowledge of conditions in India. He later traveled to the United States and represented India as a delegate in the 1893 parliament of world regions. He conducted hundreds of public and private lectures and classes, disseminating tenets of Hindu philosophy in America, England and Europe. He established the Vedanta societies in America and England.
Some of his quotes:
  • See for the highest, aim at that highest, and you shall reach the highest.
  • “Comfort” is no test of truth; o the contrary, trust is often far from being “comfortable”.
  • “The earth is enjoyed by heroes”-this is the unfailing truth. Be a hero. Always say, “I have no fear”.
  • Purity, patience and perseverance are the three essentials to success, and above all, love.
  • Strength is in goodness, in purity.
  • Arise! Awake! And stop not till the goal is reached.
  • To be good and to do well-that is the whole of religion.
  • Great undertakings are always fought with many obstacles.

UNDERSTANDING THE REALITY

You heard right!! There is much difference between understanding a person and providing security for a person. This post is especially for the parents. Often we hear parents complaining about their children that up to 10th or up to 12th my son/daughter was topper in the class, but suddenly she stopped reading! Right? According to me, 75% of the reason behind will be from the parents and teachers rest 25% will be from the student.
Parents always think of providing security for their kids and will forget to understand them. Not all the parents are the same but these days most of the parents are doing the same mistake.

If you ask any parents the reason behind their son/daughter's change in behavior they will say his/her negligence and will degrade their children in front of other saying he is not good for anything. First of all have you thought the state of your kid. I will try to cover some reason behind
When you parents, after PU you think that you want your son/daughter to read well, he want to work in this and that company, he/she have to achieve what we can't achieve  so better to make him opt a better college away from your home. This is the first decision you go wrong, in the process of securing him/her you fail to understand them and will not let them decide what they want to become. This will be first hit on their dreams. Next hit will be from the lecturers in the college. First day first class they start asking questions about previous subjects and when no one answers their question they will blame the lower class(PU or SSLC) teachers. It will be followed with  the golden statement " you were topper in so and so college and you can't answer a simple question???". lecturers never thought of the embarrassment students have gone through. Up to 12th teachers will be caring and constantly monitoring students. Students will be praised for the good things they did. But when it comes to degree most of the lecturers does not give any attention. Once who provide attention will be the criticizers. So all of the scenes will make him to be like what he is now.
Now the after effects
First they feel insecurity in home. Next they start looking for friends  to share their in-security. They will in depression and will never think of the person he/she shares his/her in-security with will utilize their depression. This will next lead to so called love. Not all of the love stories will be real and not all of them will be fake. But most of them are linked with insecurity in home.
Now for parents I want to kindly pay attentions for your kids dreams and let them pursue their interested subjects. Moreover treat him/her like a friend and let them share their thoughts with you. Constantly praise him for the work he did. Motivate him to make friends at the same time let him introduce them to you. Give them some time to settle for the new course they have joined. Constantly visit college and speak with the lecturers and know about your son/daughter's progress. For lecturers, Just try to analyze each and every students, never embarrass sensitive person in front of the whole class. Give them some time to understand the course they are studying. Never judge the students on the basis of merit. Not all the first bench students are loyal at the same time not all the last bench students are useless. actually first bench students will only have knowledge where as last bench students will have common sense. when you lecturers call parents  share with them the good characters of their children not only the bad he did. This will increase their bonding. For parents question the lecturers that why my son/daughter did that you are saying bad about him? There will be no answer from him. Often the students who are daring enough to ask question to lecturers about their way of teaching is the one who is bad for them. So if one lecturer fells the same then he will make rest of the lecturers believe that the students is not good. Believe me this the bitter truth of the Indian education system that too in degree colleges. Lecturer are taking revenge on students. That's what most of the students learn from the lecturers these days.
I conclude with a statement, " understanding young minds will  make you understand future".
This one was really longer post I have skipped still many points. The message I wanted to give was believe in your loved ones that will be the greatest security you provide as a parent/lecturer/friend. For students always believe in yourself not others words.

ABOUT INSPIRATION

What inspiration is? What it means?
Inspiration is dreaming of what we want to do! It is not to dream of what we can do. I see in everyday life, inspiration being misunderstood to lead the way to what we can do. But it is path that will lead us what we can do.
There is lot of difference between what we can do and what we want to do. What we can do is done within the safety limits carefully analyzing the surroundings and the things we need to do are already available. But what we have to do is out of safety limits and you have to make the things available. Inspiration have to lead us to take risk. The risk we take will be the root cause of the progress in your life.
Inspiration leads to determination. If you are inspired to do something then you will be determined to achieve it.
For example yesterday I was hearing to vijayprakash, famous singer . Not only him But much of musicians in India face the same fate(Raghu dixit). They are inspired to be a singer and the way they took to achieve it was full of pain. They spent night in railway stations first, then they spent some days in temples. Then one day they achieved what they wanted to do. They were so much determined and inspired that they even left the studies and they ran away from home to achieve what they need.
But what I insist you guys never try to get away from your loved ones. Take risks from where you are and with your loved ones informed about your progress. Even vijayprakash is of same opinion.
What we learned from this!!

  •  Get inspired.
  • Then think of what you want to do.
  • Take risk.
  • Never give up on your thoughts.
  • Believe in yourself.
  • Try and try again success will be     yours.

I will conclude that "Never run behind the success, Run behind your dreams" then success will follow you.

TO DREAM BIG IS TO LIVE HAPPY LIFE

    Hi all,
I will continue my thoughts on 'experiences in life', after sometime. Until then I will update my blog on current events.

    kindly cooperate.

I just want to update my thought on “Dream Big”.
Why dreaming big is necessary for younger generation?
Why younger generation is taking wrong decision in life?

These thoughts came to my mind, when I was reading a news paper a week back. Professor C.N.R.Rao stated that "I want younger generation of India to think big and overtake the older generation. But in reality younger generation of India is not thinking in terms of development. I am famous because younger generation of India is not dreaming big! I want younger generation of India to overtake older generation and create a new history".
Hats off to you and your thoughts sir......

Today's generation is greatly in need of professor like you, who tend to inspire them to dream big and achieve big.
As I read these statements, another thought came to my mind why we(mean to say students) are  going to college??? Why we are studying??? why we are struggling so much for percentage and marks??? why we want to top the university are college???
I know, the answer will be obviously JOB!!! that is linked directly with money. I 100% agree with you that we can't live without money, but have you thought what we are going through to earn something that is not even existing in real life. Can anyone tell me what money is?? it's just an transaction method we use to buy our daily usable things, That we had made our life. Yes earning money is our life.
Why not any of you got a thought to do something for the betterment of the world or nature or co-existence with animals. I know there are some people working on these causes but they are less.
Sir I have answer for your question , The reality! The message you have said will never reach younger generation  because they have become ignorant. Yes you heard right they are ignorant because of the society particularly because of parents, teacher, lecturers and the course they choose.
Parents from the 1st standard want their child to be a machine that is programmed to earn money, They want their child to be first in the class. Same rule is applied by the teachers from 1st to 10th. The kid who have to learn so many things in life by playing outside will be sitting in home all the time reading books(that too text book) or watching television , mobile or playing games, etc. After school, colleges also imply the same. So much of expensive coaching is given to score marks in exams but the kid is not ready to face real exam that's life. And then comes the degree colleges where they learn 60% of being ignorant. First of all we, means younger generation are thought to score marks, hate the one who scores more than you in the exam, score more than him in next exam. we are not thought to love ourselves, love nature, love co-existence with animals, humanity, helping nature, enjoying living, experiencing small and small happiness in life. Rather we learn heatedness, bullying on weak, snatching from the poor and the main point of all never think out of the box, you just want job.
After all these I conclude that I need professor like you to be famous forever. Let these younger generation work on earning money & on the course they will face so many problems and because of their lack in  experience they will take a wrong path.
once again a big clap to all the parents who want a money wending machine(Go and buy yourself a robot, humans are meant to live life). Big clap to all those teachers and lecturers who are playing in students life with marks(younger generation don't care for marks they care for knowledge).............      you all are a building younger generation of so called " Generation of idiots" by Einstein.
what parents can do according to me is
    • Teach your child to enjoy life not money.
    • Teach your child to love all not the marks they score.
    • Teach your child to love themselves not others marks as every child will be unique in his own way.
    • Teach your child to love nature.
    • Teach your child to love animals.
    • Teach your child to be happy.

At last hats off to all the parents who let their children to be in the army and serve their motherland.....you really deserve a salute.

EDUCATION - The most powerful weapon

    Hi all,
I am back with my next post.
Now my field of interest is "Education". "Education is most powerful weapon". When I started thinking what to write on the topic of education, first thing that came to my mind was the ideal educational qualities of students, lecturers  and educational institutions.
In olden days, education was not a dime a dozen for all. Education was available for only a class of people(upper classes). For most of the people it was hit below the belt. In those days all were devil's advocate. After some days there was a turn over a new leaf and Education was made available for everyone.
when I was studying in high school I was inspired by a teacher his name is sampath kumar sir. He taught us physics, mathematics. He was also the head master. The interest he has in astrophysics and the way he thought us, inspired us to read 100's of books related to astrophysics. We were able to guide the sky routes according to star positions. Next  inspirational teacher when I was in pre-university, his name poorna bodhachar sir. May a coincidence he also taught us physics. What I learnt from him was enormous. In 2 years of my PU he was not on leave for even a single day, in contrast he was taking classes when any lecturer was absent. There is one story that not all of my friends or classmates don't know, when I actually approached him to pay tuition fees as I was attending his physics tuition classes, he was not ready to accept my fees. Next reply I got from him was " I don't want any fees from you. But I want you to score 98/99 or 100 in 2nd PU final exam and just want you to give me the photo copy of that paper". The motivation he gave me and the amount of confidence he gave me made me to score 99 in final exams and I given him the photo copy of my  final paper. This incident not only happened with me, He just selects 3 r 4 students an year with caliber to score more in final PU exams ,gives them free tuition classes and they have to give their final answer paper's photo copy for him. Nowadays he is teaching so many students for free. In same time there was another lecturer in our college named thippeswamy sir, who taught us mathematics. The quality that inspired was his desire to teach in spite of his age. He was more than 70 and was still teaching. We never felt bored in his classes. We learnt from him that there is no old age if we are young enough to accept that we can do the work.
After PU I can't find any of the lecturers as inspiring up to now.
Now I will conclude the ideal qualities of education
    • Education must brighten path of the students.
    • Education must lead the students to gain wisdom.
    • Education must inspire students to invent and do research, not just learn the syllabus.
Now the ideal qualities of teacher
    • Teacher must be an inspiration for students. As it will bring up the good qualities in students most of time.
    • Teacher must provide motivation for students as in my case poorna bodhachar sir.
    • He must inspire them to read books like sampath kumar sir. Not make the students forcefully to read books.
    • There is no age limit for teaching until you have grip on the subject you are teaching like thippeswamy sir.
    Ideal qualities of students
    • Students must find some inspiration from the teachers.
    • Students must be in desire to learn at any instant of time.
    • Students will be defined by his eagerness to learn.

These are all ideal qualities of the education related entities. What are the practical qualities????
If you are eager to know wait for my next post.
